WEST MILFORD — The name Bob Henry is synonymous with baseball in West Milford. A coach for 40 years, Henry has served as an umpire for youth and high school leagues for over 30 years. He has a tremendous track record, with over 100 of his former players having played or currently playing in college. His tutelage lives on as many of the kids he coached are now coaching in the Little League.
On opening night for the current season last month, the league surprised Henry by announcing they were naming the T-Ball field for him. That dedication ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 1, at noon. The entire community is invited to honor the man who has had such an impact on the young men of this township.
"He has dedicated his life to the youth of West Milford," said Little League Vice President Mark Minadeo. "Bob Henry is West Milford baseball."
The T-Ball field is located behind the high school.
