WEST MILFORD Calling all girls! If you really love field hockey or would like to learn the game, then this is the team for you! West Milford Community Services and Recreation is once again sponsoring the Field Hockey Youth Travel Team. It is open to girls entering grades 5 through 8, in Sept. 2012. Games will be played on Saturdays from Sept. 8 to Nov. 3 at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. Practices will take place every Monday from Aug. 20 to Oct. 29 at Kilgallen Field from 4:30 to 6 p.m. There will be some home games this season and some away games in Bloomingdale, Butler, Mountain Lakes, Montclair, Wayne, Montville, Ramsey, and the Passaic-Bergen County area. Car pooling is recommended - no transportation is provided.
Registration and payment is due to the West Milford Community Services and Recreation Office by July 9, 2012. Although the registration deadline is July 9, the actual closing date could be earlier if the team reaches 18 paid participants prior to the deadline. So what are you waiting for? The time to sign up is right now! The cost for West Milford residents is $130; $140 for non-residents. The fee includes uniform loaner, league fees, officiating, quality coaching, practice sessions, and field use. Players are required to bring a stick, ball, mouthguard, shinguards, soccer cleats, field hockey approved goggle eye wear and water to all practices and games.
