Sparta - SkyView Golf Club of Sparta will host the Sixth Annual Sussex County Junior Golf Championship on Aug. 7-10. The tournament is open to all boys and girls ages 18 and under, and for the past five years has served as the premier competitive golf opportunity for the county’s junior players outside of organized school league play. The tournament is open to all Junior golfers in and out of Sussex County. There will be two divisions for boys: 14 and under and 15-18 years of age. There will be one division for girls: 18 and under. For the 15-18 boys, the competition will begin with an 36-hole stroke play qualifying on Aug. 7 and 8. The low eight qualifiers will advance to match play elimination on the following two days. Boys 14 and under and girls will play 36 holes stroke play on Monday Aug. 7 and Tuesday Aug. 8. SkyView Golf Club, located at 226 Lafayette Road in Sparta, is a semi-private club that is open to the public. Entry fee for the event is $75, which includes greens fees and barbecue lunch on days playing in the event.
