    Wallkill 6 Indian Hills 2 Stephanie Romano went the distance, scattering five hits and fanning three, as Wallkill Valley defeated previously unbeaten Indian Hills of the North Bergen Interscholastic Athletic League its first loss of the season after the Braves had opened with six wins. Romano, who pitched a five-hit shutout earlier in the week as she blanked Lenape Vallet 2-0 when she whiffed eight, was chosen the SCIL/Richards and Summers Player of the Week. Tech 24, N.D. 17 Rachel Halliwell went deep with the bases loaded as Sussex Tech outscored Notre Dame (PA) 24-17. Halliwell went 3 for 5, knocking in six runs while Heather Lewis was 3 for 5, including a round-tripper, scored twice and plated three runs. High Point 7, PJ 6 High Point edged Pope John 7-6 as the Wildcats improved to 6-1 after posting a 4-15 record in 2005. Megan Kelly, who singled and doubled in three official at bats, knocked in five runs while Jenna Pettoni picked up a pair of RBIs.
