    Cougars, Lions share SCIL title Jamie LaCouture tossed a one-hitter as Kittatinny blanked Vernon 7-0 to clinch a share of the SCIL title. The following day, the Cougars were edged 2-1 by Pope John and finished in a tie with the Lions for the league crown. In the win over the Vikings, Nicole DiBattista singled twice and plated two runs while Christina Curtis and Abby Ralph also collected two singles apiece and knocked in runs. Lenape 4, Newton 1 Lenape Valley defeated Newton 4-1 as Shannon O’Brien went the distance, allowing three hits, fanning 10 and walking one. O’Brien, Steff Secola, Marissa Tanner and Allison Zaleski drove in the runs. Sparta 2, PJ 0 Baylea Sperring tossed a two-hit shutout as Sparta blanked Pope John 2-0. Sperring fanned eight and walked no one in raising her record to 11-3 while the Lady Spartans improved to 14-6. Virginia Bueschel delivered the game-winning RBI in the top of the fourth while Jamie Cresbaugh knocked in an insurance tally in the seventh.
