The Spartans were up by only 3 points and driving, West Milford stopped Sparta twice on third down forcing two fourth and short attempts. The last fourth down and three yards was accomplished on a Chase Clark run behind blocking by Dillon May and Austin Reinauer. This put them on the 5 yard line with first and goal. Sparta eventually scored the touchdown and extra point to put the Spartans two scores ahead of the West Milford black. It was a game that these little grid iron soldiers will likely remember for a long time to come. Other notables moments included a beautiful pass from Jimmy Cartier to Jake Vogel setting up their first score; Jimmy Cartier’s touchdown grab on a well defended pass; and Chase Clark with a kick return for a TD.
