Squirt hockey team places first

    The West Milford Bears Squirt Hockey team beat the Jester’s East Hockey Club on Saturday, Jan. 28, capping off an impressive regular season. The Bears (16-3-1) shut out a talented Jester’s squad 3-0 and locked up first place in the Ice Vault house league standings. The Bears followed a game plan that has proven successful most of the season, using a combination of relentless defense and solid goaltending coupled with timely scoring on offense. The team consists of returning second year Squirt players along with some talented young first year skaters. West Milford begins its quest for the League Championship with its opening round playoff game Saturday, Feb. 11, 2:45 at the Ice Vault In Wayne. The semi-finals will be the following Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1:15. The championship game will be played Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.
