Stillwater couple victorious at Long Branch Half Marathon

    Long Branch - Guy and Laurie Gordon of Sussex County scored a pair of age-group victories on Sunday, April 30, at the Long Branch Half Marathon. Guy Gordon placed first in the 40-49 age group, while his wife was first in the 30-39 age category. Guy Gordon finished as 10th overall male and Laurie Gordon was eighth overall female in a field of 4,000. The Gordons are volunteer race directors of the annual Stillwater Stampede 5-K and also coach the Bears youth running program each fall. This year’s Stampede will benefit Newton Memorial Hospital’s Heart Center, and will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Swartswood State Park.
