The Sparta fifth grade boys travel basketball team recently completed a successful 2005-06 season. The team finished second among 16 northern New Jersey town teams in the Lakeland Basketball League with a record of 14-4. The squad, coached by Gary Kolakowski and assistant coach Mark Steel, advanced to the second round of the playoffs before losing to Rockaway, 40-39.
