WEST MILFORD — The Highlander football team battled through a tough 52-7 loss to Ramapo last Friday. But Highlander pride and never-quit attitude was definitely on display.

One players who showed those characteristics is this week’s player of the week - Tyler Horner.

"Tyler has been one of our most consistent players this season," said Coach Don Dougherty.

Tyler is a two-way starter, playing offensive tackle and defensive end, Dougherty added. He was a part of an offensive line that created running lanes, which allowed for 178 yards of rushing last week.

"Defensively, Tyler made three solo tackles as well as a sack against a very powerful Ramapo offense," said the coach. "Tyler has not only done his part on the field, but excels in the classroom as well. Tyler currently takes several college prep and honors classes at West Milford. Tyler is a perfect example of a well-rounded student athlete."

Next week the Highlanders play their final home game of the season against Bergenfield. They will also celebrate Senior Night prior to the opening kick-off, honoring all senior members of the team. Game time is 7 p.m.
