The phrase “We still believe in heroes” from the movie The Avengers is alive and flourishing at Marshall Hill Elementary School. Superheroes flooded Marshall Hill School for its annual Field Day on Friday, May 18. Students kicked off the day honoring a local hero, Lauren Dawson, a national guardsperson with the Air Force. Physical education teacher, Jason Benz, retired media specialist Terry Sandford, and members of the PTA helped organize the day’s events. Activities for all students in grades kindergarten through six ranged from Avenger Tag, Hulk’s Tug of War to Black Widow’s Web and Thor’s Horseshoes. Marshall Hill students also enjoyed a lunchtime BBQ provided by expert grillers, courtesy of the PTA. The main event for the afternoon was the annual John Ducey fundraising water balloon toss. A fun time was had by all saturated teachers and students who look forward to next year’s festivities.
