West Milford falls to Ridgewood

    — The West Milford gymnastics team’s first away meet had many bright spots, but the Highlanders came up short against a strong Ridgewood team, 98.175 to 83.95.
    Junior Sydney Llewellyn performed extremely well on vault, placing 4th by a slight margin with a score of 7.9.
    Well-executed vaulting by junior Emily McNamara and sophomore Arianna McGuinness, scoring 7.75 and 7.55 respectively, accompanied by Brielle Mulvihill and Sara Sekelsky, displayed strong competition by our Lady Highlanders.
    Sydney Llewellyn’s performance on bars also placed her in the top four, scoring a 6.3, with Emily McNamara very close behind with a 6.25. Continuing the bar routines were teammates Sara Sekelsky, Jackie Leddy and Dana Ross.
    Junior Alyssa Herbaugh had one of her best performances on beam, placing her in the top four with a score of 7.35. Lady Highlanders Emily McNamara, Sara Longo, Danielle Logan and Kate Schultz also executed on beam.
    Floor performances were truly electrifying by the strong and confident West Milford Lady Highlanders! Junior Lauren Chimileski’s performance on floor exercises earned her a tie for first place with a score of 8.7. Sydney Llewellyn and senior Samantha Czulada wowed the crowd and earned Llewellyn a score of 7.85 placing third, and Czulada a score of 7.8 and a fourth place spot. Those performances as well as those by Gianna Barrere and Kristen Gadomski gave West Milford a winning score on floor.
