West Milford high school athletes to continue careers in college

Two West Milford high school athletes will continue their athletic careers in college.
West Milford High School senior Anthony Cecere recently signed to continue his wrestling career at Centenary College in Hackettstown. Cecere was a four-year varsity letter winner and captain of the Highlander wrestling team his senior season.
Throughout his four years, he helped lead the team to over 40 wins. During his senior season, he was selected to first team all conference and second team all Passaic county. He was a Dover tournament finalist and Passaic county finalist as well during his senior season.
"Cecere is truly a Highlander wrestler who exemplifies our team slogan 'hometown pride' and has a bright future ahead of him!" said West Milford head coach Taylor Pevny.
Lamothe signs with Clark UniversityWest Milford High School senior Sydney Lamothe recently signed to continue her field hockey career at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
Lamothe was awarded the Clark University Traina Scholarship, the top four-year merit award for exceptional incoming students.
During her high school career, Lamothe accrued a number of accolades, including first team all county, first team all conference, ranked #2 in Passaic County overall, was team captain and earned most dedicated.
She is currently ranked #12 in the WMHS senior class with a 4.45 GPA. She received the WMHS Distinguished Scholar Award for the past there years and is also a member of the National Honor Society, the National Mathematics Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society and the National World Language Honor Society.
Lamothe plans to pursue an Accelerated B.A./Master's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Clark.
