WMHS bowling team starts strong, wiining first matches 6-2

WEST MILFORD - The varsity bowling team is off to a good start, going 6-2 in its first two matches.
The team bowled its first match of the season against Old Tappan on Dec. 12 and ended up winning two games and total wood (or pins) to win the match 3-1.
Amanda Finke bowled a 177, 213, and a 185 for a series of 575, Mikey Nicholsen bowled a 212, 191, and 216 for a series of 619, Tyler Nicol bowled a 183, 242, and a 202 for a series of 627, and RJ Utter bowled a 155, 195, and a 216 for a series of 566.
The team duplicated that effort in its next match on Dec. 14 against Wayne Valley by winning two games and total pins in the match, with team members Amanda Finke, Mike Nicholas, Tyler Nicol, RJ Utter, Nick Bartuli, and Shane Yodice rolling for the 3-1 victory.
Amanda, Mike, Tyler, and RJ bowled for the win in the first game.
Team members were substituted in the second and third games to assist the team.
Highlanders Shane, Nick, Tyler, and RJ ended up coming from behind to pull a win in the third game as well as pulling ahead for total pins in the match.
Tyler Nicol bowled a 627 series with RJ Utter backing him up with a 622 series.
