Warwick — St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick has been named in the 2005 edition of Solucient’s “100 Top Hospitals: Performance Improvement Leaders,” a study that was published in a recent edition of Modern Healthcare magazine. This is the second year in a row that St. Anthony has been named by Solucient, a provider of strategic business and clinical information for the health care industry. St. Anthony was among the top 100 hospitals identified for developing consistent and effective organization-wide performance improvement across critical measures, at a faster rate than other U.S. hospitals over a five year period. “This recognition acknowledges a true culture of teamwork within our organization,” said Leah Cerkvenik, executive vice president and administrator for St. Anthony. “The award is a credit to the hard work of our healthcare team, who focused intensely on improving clinical quality, increased patient safety, customer service and financial operations.” Solucient’s study analyzed acute care hospitals nationwide, using detailed empirical performance data from 1999 to 2005, including publicly available Medicare MedPAR data and Medicare cost reports. Founded in 1939, St. Anthony Community Hospital is a member of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, providing emergency, medical, surgical, obstetrical, and gynecological services to residents of Orange County, N.Y, and Passaic and Sussex counties, N.J.
