NEWFOUNDLAND Maria Glaser-Roeser will host an open house at her studio, the Stonehill Pottery Shoppe at 145 Union Valley Road in Newfoundland. Glaser-Roeser has been resident of Newfoundland for 24 years. She is a Jersey native, who grew up in Bergen County. She went to Alfred University in New York where she earned a BFA and a teaching certificate. She taught art to high school students in Bergen County, but 15 years ago decided to open a studio. She uses a variety of techniques to create a wide spectrum of effects in her work. She also offers adult pottery classes, for which there is a waiting list. The Stonehill Pottery Shoppe is in Glaser-Roeser’s home, which she shares with her husband, teenaged daughter, three cats, a dog and some fish. The open house will be this weekend, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.
