Sussex driver dies in Route 23 acciden

    WEST MILFORD-A 46-year-old Wantage man died Oct. 15 of injuries he received in a single vehicle accident on Route 15 South at Echo Lake Road, here. West Milford Police said Michael Cashel was driving a cement truck, owned by Service Concrete Corp., south on Route 23. As he approached Echo Lake Road, the traffic signal turned yellow and a vehicle in front of the cement truck stopped in the right-hand lane for the signal. While attempting to avoid the stopped vehicle Cashel apparently lost control of his truck, which slid to the left, flipped onto its driver's side and slid through the intersection, stopping some 200 feet beyond, according to police. Fire Companies One, Two and Four, and West Milford First Aid Squad Ambulance 47 were dispatched to the scene and worked to extricate Cashel. He was then flow my state police medevac helicopter Northstar to Morristown Memorial Hospital.
