West Milford The West Milford Health Department would like all residents to be aware of the West Milford Township “pooper scooper” ordinance 8-15 which states, “No owner shall permit a dog to soil, defile, defecate on, or commit any nuisance on any common thoroughfare, sidewalk, passageway, by-path, play area, park or upon any public place where people congregate or walk, or upon any public property whatsoever, or upon any private property without the permission of the owner of said property without having such feces immediately removed by placing same in a sanitary container to be disposed of in a sanitary manner approved by the Health Department.” Those who fail to cleanup after their dogs will be subject to a summons, requiring their appearance in Municipal Court, and resulting in possible fines.
