WEST MILFORD — There were dogs galore at Responsible Dog Ownership Day on Sept. 24. The event was held at Pequannock Feed + Pet Supply. The following rescue groups were on hand: Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue, Golden Retriever Rescue, Homeless Tails, and Second Chance to help educate the public about homeless pets. Lt. Ken Fachina and his K-9 unit from the Wanaque Police Department spoke to the public about the type of training that goes into a police dog, and demonstrated a narcotics sniffing search.
