Stephen Lembo, 19, of West Milford was sentenced last week as part of a plea bargain last week in lieu of a trial on charges of kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault. The alleged attack took place in Dec. 2004 after he picked up the victim from cheerleading practice. Although Lembo was only 17 at the time, he was prosecuted as an adult. He pleaded guilty to criminal restraint and criminal sexual conduct. He was sentenced to 364 days in the county jail and lifetime parole. He also has to perform 50 hours of community service and make financial restitution to cover the victims medical expenses and the cost of counseling. At the sentencing, which took place before Judge Ronald Marmo in the county courthouse in Paterson, Lembo expressed remorse and apologized for his behavior.
