The full extent of the work needed to the county-owned Tichenor House on Warwick Turnpike was revealed this week. Elaine Duffy got permission to inspect the interior of the grand home she is fighting hard to preserve. Freeholder and West Milford resident Terry Duffy (no relation to Elaine) and former resident of the house Bradley Bender also visited the house. Despite the severe state of disrepair, all were hopeful that with continued donations and funding there could be a full restoration of the property. Elaine Duffy recently set up a website along with the group, Friends of the Tichenor House, to generate interest and supporters in saving the home (circa. 1754) which may have irreplaceable historic links.
