Three injured in DWI crash

    WEST MILFORD —Three men were injured in a one car collision on Macopin Road early in the morning Sunday, May 14. The West Milford Police Department was called to the scene just North of Cahill Cross Road when they were notified of the accident at 3:06 a.m. P.O. Casey Casbarro was the first to arrive at the scene. According to police, a 2001 GMC pickup truck was traveling north on Macopin Road when it left the right side of the roadway. The truck struck a utility pole, guide rail, several trees and then overturned. The driver was Ryan Duffy, 25, from Paterson, NJ. The vehicle had two passengers, Denis Welsh, 23, of West Milford and James Fulton, 22, of Hewitt. All three occupants were transported to Morristown Memorial hospital by WMFAS # 49 and WMFAS # 47. Ryan Duffy was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and assault by auto. Bail was set at $5,000 with 10 percent option. Ryan was released on bail. The collision is currently under investigation by the West Milford Collision Unit and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. On Tuesday, no updates were available on the condition of the passengers.
