Township awarded open space money

    WEST MILFORD — West Milford was among 12 Passaic County municipalities awarded open space funds from the county freeholders last week. In total, the county granted over $4 million. West Milford received $250,000 towards the acquisition of Eagle Ridge and $600,000 for the acquisition of the Sheridan property. In addition, West Milford received $255,000 for the rehabilitation of Westbrook Park. The town council had applied for the money from the Passaic County Open Space Trust fund, which was approved by the voters in November of 1998.
