WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Parks and Recreation Department announced the annual Township Holiday Tree Lighting will be held on Monday, December 4 at 7 p.m. in front of town hall. All are invited to officially usher in the holiday season with the lighting of the tree. Members of the West Milford High School Band, under the direction of Dr. Brian McLaughlin, and the West Milford High School Chamber Singers under the direction of Doug Heyburn, will provide musical accompaniment. Also, West Milford Girl Scouts will be singing some familiar Christmas songs. Color Guard presentation will be provided by members of Boy Scout Troop 146. John Foley and his Radar Rangers will once again be providing entertainment. Something new has been added to the Tree Lighting this year. Residents are encouraged to participate in the Festival of the Trees. Prior to the ceremony, families, groups, businesses, civic organizations, etc, will have an opportunity to express their celebration of the season by hanging their ornament on one of the community trees. Ornament guidelines must be followed and can be obtained by calling the Parks and Recreation office. After the ceremony children can visit with Santa Claus, when free pictures with Santa will be taken, courtesy of Dee and Jennifer Monteleone and Photo Express.
