West Milford bids farewell to beloved kindergarten teacher

West Milford — Barbara Corsaro, a beloved kindergarten teacher in the West Milford school district, retired effective Jan. 1. Corsaro has been in the district for over 22 years, spending the bulk of her years - 19 - at Maple Road School. She also spent two years at Upper Greenwood Lake School and most recently one and a half years at Marshall Hill. During her career, Corsaro taught first grade and basic skills, but kindergarten was where her heart was. “Kindergarten was my love,” said Corsaro With her retirement coming at mid-year, Corsara said it is just time. “I am healthy, happy. My twin grandsons are just turning two,” said Corsaro. “My husband is already retired. And it is time. That’s it.” Corsaro said her plans for retirement include “more traveling and enjoying my twin grandsons.” The school board accepted Corsaro's resignation with regret and hired Kelly Mongelli as her replacement.
