    Oct. 5 David Walsh, 24, of Hewitt, was arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintenance of lamps and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle after he was stopped on Oak Ridge Road for having a headlight out. Police observed the smell of marijuana and Walsh turned over a glass pipe along with suspected marijuana. Oct. 9 Michael Schug, 25, of Hewitt, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. Schug was traveling south on Ridge Road when he went through the intersection of Ridge/Westbrook Road and struck the guardrail. Oct. 11 A 25-year-old Hewitt man was issued a summons for improper passing after he passed over the double yellow line on Union Valley Road and hit another car pulling out of the A&P parking lot. A passenger in his car was transported to Chilton Memorial Hospital by the West Milford First Aid Squad. Thomas Kooken, 31, of Newfoundland, was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane and an expired drivers license. Police observed his black Cherokee being driven in an erratic manner near LaRue Road and Union Valley Road and conducted a traffic stop. They found the drive to be under the influence. He was transported to police headquarters and issued the summons pending a future court date. Oct. 21 James Dunne, 32, of Glenwood was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving after he said he lost control of his vehicle while turning onto Morsetown Road. Witnesses stopped the vehicle about 1/10th of a mile north of Cahill Cross Road, where the crash occurred, and called police. Twenty-two-year-old Devin Degroat of Ringwood was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath testing. Police observed him on Macopin Road speeding and, after a traffic stop, determined he was driving under the influence. He was released onsummons pending a future court date. Oct. 22 Jennifer Jensen, 27, of Hawthorne was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath tests, unlicensed driver, suspended driver, failure to yield at traffic light and failure to keep right after police observed her run the red light on Union Valley Road near Walgreens. Her court date was Oct. 29. Oct. 24 A 26-year-old woman from Rockaway was issued a careless driving summons when she lost control of her car as she rounded a turn on Route 23, hitting an embankment. The vehicle overturned and landed on its roof. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Chilton by the West Milford First Aid Squad. Oct. 29 A Hewitt man, 20, was issued a summons for careless driving and hazardous tires after the car he was traveling in on Macopin Road went off the road striking a parked car and coming to rest on large rocks. The man was transported to chilton Hospital by the West Milford First Aid Squad. Nicole Devries, 18, of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia when police were serving her with an arrest warrant. During the arrest procedure police found heroin and a hypodermic syringe. Devries was transported to Passaic County Jail on the original arrest warrant. Oct. 30 While on patrol in Crescent Park, police were advised that a dark colored pick-up truck was observed with occupants shooting paint balls at houses. The vehicle was located on Union Valley Road andpolicce found hypodermic needle and burnt marijuana. Jessica Mulcahy, 24, of Hewitt, was charged with possession of marijuana, possessing with intent to use, possession of hypodermic syringe, possession of controlled dangerous substance or Analog, and use of controlled dangerous substance. John Harris, 24, of West Milford was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, use or possession with intent to use, possession of hypodermic syringe, use of controlled dangerous substance, and possession of controlled dangerous substance or analog. Nov. 1 A 23-year-old West Milford man received a summons for careless driving after the car he was driving on Lakeshore Drive went off the road and struck a rock embankment and a utility pole. Police said he was traveling at an unsafe speed. Nov. 2 A 60-year-old west Milford woman fell asleep while driving on Oak Ridge Road. Her car ran off the road and struck a guardrail. She was transported to Chilton Hospital by the West Milford First Aid Squad. Police were dispatched to Alpine Ridge road on the report of a suspicious vehicle. When Officer Shannon Sommerville arrived he saw a car parked off the main roadway with three occupants inside. A strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Police arrested Curtis Leddy, 18, of West Milford for psosession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. His court date is pending. Nov. 4 A 27-year-old Newfoundland man struck a pedestrian in the West Milford High School parking lot. Sun glare may have been a factor. The pedestrian, age 51 from West Milford, was brought to Chilton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
