May 6 - Possession of CDS/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Clinton Road Mollie Rose, Nutley, Age 24 Edward Mead II, Bergen, Age 24 While on patrol officer Shannon Sommerville driving north on Clinton Road at 0018 hours observed a green Volkswagen driving south with the passenger side headlight out. Officer initiated a motor vehicle stop. Officer Sommerville spoke with the driver, Mollie E. Rose and found that she was suspended and that the car was unregistered and uninsured. While speaking with the driver officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Officer Tyrus Hicks arrived on scene. Both passenger and driver were placed under arrest. Mollie Rose was issued summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and for Suspended Driving, Unregistered Vehicle, Uninsured Vehicle, Maintenance of Lamps, and Speeding. Passenger, Edward Meade II was arrested for Possession of CDS. P.O. Shannon Sommerville May 6 - DWI - Awosting Road Andrew G. Hansen, Hewitt, Age 45 While on patrol driving north on Greenwood Lake Turnpike at 2331 hours, Officer Shannon Sommerville observed a Black Dodge Ram driving south on Greenwood Lake Turnpike without headlights on. The vehicle ran off the road and struck the guardrail on the right side of the road. Officer turned around and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The driver (Andrew Hansen) was observed to be slurring his words and unable to keep his balance. Driver was arrested for DWI. P.O. Shannon Sommerville May 6 - DWI - Oak Ridge Road William M. Ritter, Sparta, Age 31 While on patrol Officer Jason Lowenfeld was dispatched to Oak Ridge Deli to assist Jefferson PD on a traffic stop. Upon officer’s arrival at the scene he observed a 1997 four-door Chevrolet in the eastbound lane of Oak Ridge road with a Jefferson PD marked unit behind it with emergency warning lights on. Officer Lowenfeld spoke to Sgt. J. Johnson, Jefferson PD who advised Officer Lowenfeld that he had observed the above vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. The driver was standing outside the vehicle and was found to be intoxicated. Officer Lowenfeld performed field sobriety tests on driver. Mr. Ritter then was placed under arrest and transported to West Milford Police Headquarters where he was processed and placed in cell. He was later released to a friend. Driver was issued summons for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to keep right. P.O. Jason Lowenfeld May 4 - Theft of Property - Lycosky Drive Raimonds Gauba, West Milford, Age 45 Klaus Pintsch, West Milford, Age 69 On May 4, 2006 at 1032 hours P.O. Bruce Lederman, P.O. James DeVore and P.O. Casey Casbarro were dispatched to the West Milford Recycling Center regarding a report of a silver Honda pickup truck that had just stolen topsoil. Officer Casbarro found the above vehicle unoccupied in the Shop Rite Plaza. When the above accused walked from a business establishment they were approached by Officer Casbarro and advised that they had to return the soil back to the recycling center. The accused then responded to the recycling center and returned the soil. The two accused were escorted back to headquarters where they were processed and released on summons for Theft of Moveable property. P.O. Casey Casbarro
