Oct. 23 10/23/06 - DUI/Possession of CDS - Route 23/Echo Lake Road Daniel Kurz, Whippany, Age 26 Officer Elia was dispatched to the Shell Gas Station for a report of “drunk driver.” The officer observed driver exiting the gas station south on Route 23. Due to the volume of traffic, officer conducted a MV stop on Route 23 near Echo Lake Road. At this point Officer Hicks responded to the scene for assistance. Several beer bottles were observed on the passenger seat of vehicle. Driver was issued summons for DUI, Poss. of CDS, Unsafe lane change and possession of alcoholic beverage in MV. P.O. Frank Elia Oct. 24 Attempted Burglary - West Shore Road Pry marks and damage to rear doorjamb was found to residence at above location. Unable to locate actors. P.O. Michael Malfetti Possession of CDS - Union Valley Road Steven Singley, West Milford, Age 23 Keith Koster, West Milford, Age 22 While on patrol in the AandP parking lot, Officers Novakowski and Singerline observed the above accused sitting in a parked vehicle. Officer approached vehicle and found that the above subjects were in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Subjects were arrested for Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. P.O. Steven Singerline Possession CDS - Greenwood Lake Turnpike Michael Machetto, West Milford, Age 23 Following the arrest of the above for an active warrant subject was found to be in possession of schedule II CDS. Above subject was arrested for possession of Schedule II CDS in motor vehicle. Summons also issued for no insurance. P.O. Stephen Singerline Oct. 28 DWI - Route 23 Robert Maher, Jefferson, age 42. Officers Lederman, Nevin, O’Connor and Devore responded to the above location on a report by an off duty officer of a silver Chevy Malibu which was driving erratically northbound on Route 23. Vehicle was observed and subsequently the driver was found to be DWI. He was issued summons for DWI and Careless Driving. P.O. Bruce Lederman Oct. 30 Possession of CDS w/intent to distribute - Possession of Alcohol - Crest Lake Drive Robert A. Smith, Hewitt, Age 18 Juvenile #1, West Milford, (17) Juvenile #2, Hewitt (17) While on patrol in the above area officer observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed in a 25 mph zone. Officer spoke to occupants (above) and found them to be in possession of alcoholic beverages and marijuana. Subjects were arrested for same. All three were processed and juveniles were released to their parents. Summonses were issued and JV petitions were signed. P.O. James McDaniel Nov. 3 DWI - Macopin Road/Union Valley Road Suzanne Stellato, Wanaque, Age 64 While on patrol south on Macopin Road Sgt. Matarese observed a vehicle traveling north on Macopin Road approaching his patrol vehicle. The vehicle had its high beam headlamps on and appeared to be drifting towards the center line between the north and south lanes. At the intersection of Macopin/Union Valley Road the vehicle shut off its headlights and drove a short distance with no lights on. Officer effectuated a MV stop and found driver to be DWI. Driver was arrested for DWI, and issued summons for improper use of headlamps, unsafe lane change and altering headlamps. Sgt. John Matarese Nov. 4 DWI - Awosting Road Rickey Bonstein, Hewitt, Age 44 While on patrol driving north on Greenwood Lake Turnpike Officer Sommerville observed the above vehicle traveling in the opposite direction over the double yellow lines, almost hitting patrol vehicle. Officer immediately turned around and followed the above vehicle. Vehicle was subsequently arrested for DWI. Summonses were issued for failure to exhibit documents and failure to keep right. P.O. Shannon Sommerville Nov. 5 DWI/MVA - Gould Road Susan Smith, West Milford, Age 33 Vehicle was traveling west on Gould Road and approached a sharp curve at too high a speed, skidding off the roadway up an embankment, struck a traffic warning sign, several small trees and a utility pole. Driver refused medical attention at the scene. Driver was arrested for DWI. Summons also issued for Careless Driving. P.O. James McDaniel MVA/DWI - Dudley St. Steven Worrell, West Milford, Age 47 Above was backing up and tried to go left to travel west on Dudley St. Driver drove up on embankment and rolled vehicle on driver’s side.
