May 31 MVA - DWI n East Shore Road #1 n Michael Schubart, Hewitt, Age 56 Vehicle (motorcycle) was traveling north on East Shore Road. Driver lost control, laid the motorcycle down, slid for approximately 80’ and left the roadway. Vehicle continued sliding on the shoulder when it struck a large log on the roadside. Vehicle overturned and driver was ejected. Vehicle came to rest on a large rock. Driver flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital. Driver issued summons for DWI. Lt. Timothy Storbeck June 1 DWI n Macopin Road Karl B. Schinke, West Milford, Age 68 P.O. Pittelko and P.O. Hancock observed the above driver proceed south on Union Valley Road onto Macopin Road. Vehicle was swerving out of its lane on several occasions. Driver was arrested for DWI and failure to maintain a lane. P.O. Amy Hancock June 2 Theft n Post Brook South Homeowner stated that a 5 ft. wooden bear statue was stolen from his yard. Value $100 P.O. Lewis Rose June 2 DWI n Route 23 Jeffrey Hitchcoff, Lincoln Park, Age 28 While on patrol on Route 23 Southbound P.O. Lewis Rose was approached by a passing motorist who stated that a Jeep was observed driving all over the road. Officer proceeded southbound on Route 23 when he observed a Jeep driving down the center line of Route 23. Driver (above) was issued summons for DWI and for failure to keep right on highway with marked lanes. Court date was set for June 14. P.O. John Pesenti June 3 Criminal Mischief n Lakeshore Drive Window broken by a marble shot from a projectile through window from passing vehicle. P.O. Shannon Sommerville June 4 MVA n Route 23 #1 n Matthew Behre, Highland Lakes, Age 17 #2 n Matthew Antonelle, Lafayette, Age 40 V2 traveling Route 23 northbound in the intersection of Clinton Road. V1 crossing over at Clinton Road ran through a red light and struck V2 in the rear door sending it off the road to the right. D2 tried to counter steer but was sent so far out of control the vehicle overturned. Numerous tools and materials were thrown from the bed of V2 damaging many of them. D1 issued summons for reckless driving. D2 and passenger #1 taken to Chilton Hospital. P.O. Charles McQuaid
