RINGWOOD-Nicholas Conner Romano of West Milford is Passaic County's finalist in the Congressional Art Competition. The competition is a nationwide art event that chooses high school students from each Congressional District to represent their state in an exhibition held each year in Washington D.C. Nicholas' winning artwork will proceed to the Bergen Museum of Art, where it will compete against three other finalists from the district. The first place winner will have his or her piece displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol Complex, along with other winning pieces from around the country. The second place piece of artwork will be displayed for a year in Congressman Scott Garrett's Washington, D.C. office and the third and fourth place pieces will be showcased in Congressman Garrett's district offices. This is the second year that Ringwood Manor Association of the Arts has hosted entries from Passaic County District 5, which includes Ringwood, West Milford and Wanaque. Nicholas' artwork along with other young artists' work can be seen at the 25th Annual Young Artists' Expo, at the Barn Gallery, Ringwood State Park, weekends and Wednesdays, through May 15.
