On Sunday, September 25, the West Milford Wolverines 11U Baseball Club topped Princeton 9-4 in their Cerbo Fall League matchup at Howard Field in West Milford. The Wolverines' bats woke up, as they stroked eleven hits to overpower the visitors. The offensive explosion was led by Tim Scott (3-H, 2-R, 2-RBI), Nick Conlon (2-H, 3-RBI) and Marc Anthony Gonzalez (2-RBI). Brett Peters (Win, 3-IP, 0-R, 3-K), Tyler Patalita, and John Buechel all pitched well for the home team. West Milford struck quickly in the bottom of the first when Conlon stroked a triple to score Peters and Scott for a 2-0 lead. In the second frame, after Anthony Olcay, Conor Labita and Paul Santiago's consecutive hits loaded the bases, Marc Anthony Gonzalez stroked a single to bring home two more runs. Steven Sweigart then followed with a run-scoring single. Greg Tompkins' RBI ground out and Scott's RBI double made the score 7-0 after two innings. In the fifth, after Greg Tompkins tripled, Scott's third hit of the day brought him home. Conlon followed up with a base clearing double to complete the Wolverines' scoring for the afternoon. The Wolverines 11U will face Hillsborough on Saturday, October 1, at Howard Field beginning at 10:30 a.m. On Sunday, October 2, West Milford will host Delaware Valley at 1 p.m., again at Howard Field.
