To the editor: A recent letter to the editor suggested that I run for the New Jersey State Senate or Assembly. I am flattered that someone would think of me with such high regard, after much discussion with my family and my one supporter, I have decided not to run on the state level. I want to take this opportunity to formally announce my candidacy for United States Senate. My platform will garner support from most local Democrats, some Independents and a few Republicans in that if elected, I promise to stay in Washington DC and never return to West Milford, and will resign from the Zoning Board of Adjustment. I promise a vigorous campaign against the other Frank in the race, Democrat Frank Lautenberg. Since he has probably never been to West Milford and never spent a waking moment working for the betterment of the town, I must admit he has a distinct advantage over me. Never underestimate the power of name recognition without accomplishment when it comes to elections. Either way, no matter which one of us wins, you would be guaranteed a Frank in 2008. “Vote Frank Hannan for US Senate 2008: If he’s wrong for West Milford, he must be right for the nation” Frank Hannan West Milford
