I am extremely disappointed that the Ramaglia team refuses to collaborate on a debate with mayor candidate Lou Signorino and council candidates Mike Hensley and myself.
The Signorino team made every effort possible to facilitate the organization of a debate. An invitation was presented to discuss the specifics of the event with the other side. A venue and neutral potential moderator were in place. All that was missing was cooperation and compromise from the Ramaglia camp.
This would have been an opportunity for the voters to hear the candidates' answers to questions about issues that affect their daily quality of life. West Milford's Republican voters deserve an opportunity to hear from all of the candidates in a healthy public debate.
The Ramaglia team will likely respond to this letter and attempt to blame my proactive attitude as the reason there will not be a debate. Chances are they will try to spin the truth to blame Lou, Mike, and me for being persistent and working tirelessly to put this debate together.
Rest assured that Lou, Mike, and I will still coordinate a Meet and Greet before the election to allow for the public to talk with us. We have nothing to hide and look forward to talking directly with the residents.
That is why we have been actively going door-to-door, standing outside of Shop-Rite, and attending public events. We want to hear the residents' thoughts, concerns, and opinions. We want to listen to what the hardworking taxpayers of West Milford have to say.
Public service is about serving the residents, and we will continue to make it our mission to listen to you.
If you would like to speak with any of us, please stop by the Passport Cafe at Greenwood Lake Airport on Saturday, May 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. Hors d oeuvres and beverages will be served with an open forum for discussion with Lou, Mike, and me.
It is extremely disappointing and unfortunate that the Ramaglia campaign deliberately avoided this debate. I hope the voters of West Milford join me in questioning their motivation on Election Day by voting for Row B.
