Coronavirus Flight

Coronavirus flight, life changes for all,

To escape from our cities’ contagious pall.

The Animals’ “We gotta get out of this place,

If it’s the last thing we ever do” embrace.

Migrants hastened to our quiet country lake,

Left urban gaiety due to this outbreak.

“City Slickers” now dwelling in our “Brooklyn West.”

For local indigenes a hesitant unrest.

The sewage system “left behind” for the septic,

And well water replaced city water caustic.

To have a place to live in security,

A compassionate goal for all humanity.

But for our homeless virus flight is to nowhere,

No choice for these brethren in wanton despair
