Thanks goes to the students and owner of “For Love of Mud” pottery studio for hosting an Empty Bowls Event to support the Food Pantry at West Milford Presbyterian Church and Arts Horizons of New Jersey. Over 100 guests enjoyed a variety of delicious soups on Oct. 19, purchased a hand made ceramic bowl made by local artists and enjoyed an evening of fellowship. The event raised over $1,000 for each of the two charities.
DeBorah Goletz is the owner of “For Love of Mud Potter Studio,” located at 1789 Macopin Road, a local pottery studio. Students gather each Monday and Tuesday evening for classes. She also hosts a variety of special classes throughout the year. The students were looking for a way to give back to the community and this event seemed like a perfect fit, as it combined their artistic skills with the needs of the community.
West Milford Presbyterian Church Food Pantry services families in need in our community. The food pantry provides food and personal hygiene supplies to individuals and families. The Food Pantry is open Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., as well as the first Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The deacons of the church, who are committed to reaching out in service to the community, run it.
