The dictionary defines “feckless” as incompetent and ineffectual, or one not fit to assume responsibility. In West Milford, five of our current elected officials meet that definition. Only Mayor Bettina Bieri and Councilwoman Ada Erik display some common sense and backbone.
The five feckless council members are the reason for the current carnival on town hall property. Religious, and non religious, displays belong on private property. Religious institutions are already granted property tax exemptions. Town hall should not be turned into a circus at this time of year.
Hopefully next year’s council will display more common sense than the current cast of characters and learn that it is okay to say “no.”
