I have been a resident of West Milford since 1962 and actually graduated from our high school.I started working for our township as an account clerk when I was 18 and by the time I was 22 I was the acting Township Treasurer.I left my employment with the town when I married my first husband. He wanted me to keep his books and get my real estate license and sell homes that he built. We had two children, Colleen and Tommy.I was widowed when my children were young teens.I had to finish two housing projects, design land development and manage three corporations.I later married my daughters math teacher and we had a child, Mike.We are truly blessed with three great adult children and a 2-year-old grandchild.
Many people do not realize Oak Ridge, Newfoundland, Apshawa, Macopin, West Milford, Hewitt, Upper Greenwood Lake, Awosting, many lake communities, and part of Stockholm all make up our township.I love our entire town.I know how difficult the current economic timesare affecting everyone.I will do everything I possibly can to get the most service to our residents for their tax dollars. You can be assured I will be a private eye for our citizens.
While I was on the council, I paid for the convention, courses and publications myself.I was eventually successful in getting the council to delete their convention account from the budget.I currently donate some time in the health department in getting our septic permits up to date and help at clinics. When I was on the town council, I made myself available to our taxpayers one day every week and I never missed any council meetings. I am involved in numerous volunteer community service activities and hope to continue as long as I am able to do so.
Please give me the opportunity to once again serve as your councilwoman.I am a Golden Rule Republican. Kindly support me and my running mate, JoAnn Blom, on June 5.We are on line E along with our Golden Rule County Committee candidates.
