Like many, I do not agree with the need for another turf field and surely not on any school property and using any of our re-development money. Sports for our kids are a great idea and I support them, but once again, the rest of our residents are being ignored. It is long overdue to use this kind of money and also apply for other grants to turn the 42-acre Bubbling Springs site into a real park we can all enjoy. This has much potential and already has paved parking.
This is what our Recreation Advisory Committee should be working with the town to achieve, instead of another sports field. We need much more, deserve much more and we want much more in our town for us all.
Recreation is much more than sports. We are far behind so many other towns and cities. My friends and I, of all ages, have been wanting a park for many years. There is no reason we cannot learn lessons from the places that have already provided them in their own towns. Use re-development money for Bubbling Springs, not another field of any kind.
