West Milford athletes shined in fencing, shotput and basketball

Olivia Arciniega scored seven points for a basketball victory. Joshua Schiffino has gone undefeated for three fencing meets In girls basketball, Avery Vacca was named to the All Tournament Team, while Tanner Christie took third in varsity shot put.

    Athletes of the Week for December 20-25 at West Milford Township High School included Joshua Schiffino, who has gone undefeated in varsity foil for three fencing meets in a row, making him 3-0 through our first three meets. In girls basketball, Olivia Arciniega scored seven points to help spark the victory over Indian Hills. Olivia finished the game with 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and took a charge.

    Athletes of the Week for December 27-January 1.

    In boys winter track, Tanner Christie took third in varsity shot put at the Coach Glynn Holiday Invitational at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island on Tuesday. He also placed 1st in shot put at Wayne Valley at the jump and throw meet last Thursday.

    In girls basketball, Avery Vacca was the leading scorer in the teams two games at the Pequannock Blue and Gold Holiday Tournament. In their second game against Pequannock, Avery tied her career high with 17 points. For her efforts, Avery was named to the All Tournament Team.
