To the editor: The last letter to the editor Doris Aaronson sent in a few years back that mentioned my name was one thanking me for stopping to change her flat tire in a rainstorm. That is why 1 was shocked to read her recent attack on me in the paper. These are the facts that Ms. Aaronson got completely wrong. She contends in her letter that I own “a commercial establishment neighboring the Valley Ridge tract.” I own no commercial property neighboring the Valley Ridge tract. She then goes on to accuse me of possibly being the person who ripped down her flyers posted in the community encouraging folks to attend the Valley Ridge Planning Board hearing. This is an outrageous charge that I find to be a damnation of my character and family name. In fact, at the Valley View Pub I still have not taken down the copy of the flyer announcing that meeting. It is still hanging in my establishment and I invite her to come to the restaurant and see it for herself. Yes, I am Republican and do support the local Republican council candidates, Joe Smolinski and Dr. Sal Schimmenti. That seems to be the only thing she got right and I believe the primary reason for her attack upon my character. Readers should ask the question, how many other facts about Republicans named in her letter did she get completely wrong? Steven Castronova West Milford
