To the editor: Sal better watch out; Joe better not lie! The voters will shout: “I’m telling you why!” The voters are living in town. They’re making a list; They’re checking it twice. They’re going to find out who’s naughty or nice. The voters are listening in town. Naughty Republicans: Joe Smolinski fought to shift the Open Space funds needed to buy Eagle Ridge to recreation, which already gets millions in tax dollars. Sal Schimmenti sits on the MUA Board that supports having Eagle Ridge and Valley Ridge deplete our scarce ground water supply and spew out pollution to our streams and lakes. Nice Democrats: Jim Geist and Jim Rauth support the Highlands Act because its development restrictions will help stabilize school taxes, and preserve our rural environment and quality of life. Jim Rauth and Jim Geist helped with Skylands CLEAN mailings, did trash clean-ups on area roads and parks, distributed flyers about Valley Ridge, served on Special Olympics Com. and coached Little League, in order to serve and improve our community. The voters know who’s sleeping; They know who’s been awake. They know both Jims are men so good, They’ll vote good for our town’s sake. The voters will shout; Their spirits are high. It’s Geist they sought out; For Rauth they say “Aye!” Jim Geist and Rauth are winning our town! Doris Aaronson West Milford
