To the editor: I am writing this letter to support the candidacy of Carmen Scangarello for re-election to the West Milford Township Council and the passage of the Open Space/Recreation Referendum. I have had the pleasure of working with Carmen on several occasions over the past few years and have found him to be one of the hardest working, dedicated, and forthright individuals to have served the people of this township. He has always answered the call when something has to be done without hesitation and zeal. Carmen never looks to be the focus of attention, but quietly goes about the business of getting the job done. I firmly believe he has the welfare of all of West Milford’s citizens at the forefront when it comes to making a decision. His choice of campaign slogans could not have been more appropriate, “Action Not Words.” The residents of West Milford have the opportunity to address the dire needs and poor conditions of the townships recreational facilities. This can be accomplished by voting yes for Municipal Question 1 on Election Day. By doing so you will say yes to rectifying a long overdue commitment to the kids of West Milford. A yes vote will not mean an open door for developers to build out the town. A yes vote will not mean you are just bloating the Recreation Department. A yes vote will preserve the existing dedicated monies for open space purposes. A yes vote will allow the township to address the needs of its facilities without raising taxes. A yes vote will loudly say “We the people of West Milford care about our citizens and the places they have to play.” Vote for Carmen and vote yes for Open Space and Recreation William Remia Hewitt
