Wishes for the season

To the editor: As the holiday season is here, the members of the West Milford Rotary Club wish to take this opportunity to wish all who read this a very happy, healthy and safe holiday season. In the spirit of the holiday season here are some holiday wishes for the upcoming year ranging from the silly to the sublime: • For Yankee fans, welcome back Andy Pettitte; and may The Boss find pitchers not yet old enough for Social Security. For Met fans, a trip to the World Series! Rotary does not wish to be partial. In that spirit may the Giants and Jets meet in the Super Bowl; may the Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders and Devils all succeed and may Rutgers continue to have fantastic seasons. Please feel free to apply these thoughts to your favorite un-named team. • May your favorites advance to the finals on American Idol. • May your personal computers be safe from viruses and crashes. • May this be the year you hit the lottery. • May the winter not be too severe. A white Christmas would, however, be lovely. • May those who perpetuate violence in the world come to understand that terrorism solves nothing. All it will result in is more death and destruction. • May the young men and women of America serving in uniform come home safe and sound to their families. • May the leaders of America and world exercise the wisdom to bring about peace in the world. • May such a peace be everlasting. Merry Christmas; Happy Hanukkah; Happy Kwanza to everyone! The West Milford Rotary Club
