West Milford house fire injures two, kills dog
West Milford. Two people were injured and a dog died in a structure fire Aug. 21 at a Louis Avenue home in West Milford, which was destroyed in the blaze.

The West Milford Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2 Louis Ave. at approximately 3:20 p.m. Feb. 21.
When firefighters arrived, the structure was fully involved. A second alarm was transmitted, bringing mutual aid from surrounding municipalities. All six West Milford Township fire companies also responded.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in approximately an hour but remained at the scene for several hours.
Two occupants were injured and transported to a hospital, where they were treated and released, according to the department.
A dog died in the fire.
The house was declared a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the West Milford Township Fire Marshal’s Office.
