Friends of the Library concert series moves to Camp Hope
West Milford. The Friends of the West Milford Township Library will launch its free Monday Evening Summer Concert Series at Camp Hope on July 6 with a performance by The Kootz, followed by weekly concerts through Aug. 10.
Camp Hope will be the new home for West Milford’s Friends of the Library Monday Evening Summer Concert series beginning with The Kootz, featuring an eclectic mix of classic rock, soul and blues music, on Monday, July 6, at 7 p.m. The concerts are free to the public.
Located on 62-acres of woodland property at 1792 Union Valley Road in West Milford, Camp Hope’s amenities include cabin rentals, hiking trails with walking clubs, basketball and bocce courts, softball and baseball fields, as well as an extensive playground and pool. A pavilion and other buildings on site support services for children and seniors throughout the year.
Concert attendees are invited to engage the visual art at the “Art Table” to draw, paint and/or write words, and express how the music makes them feel as a pure creative activity. The collected artwork will be displayed at a crowd-sourced end-of-the-year exhibit at the West Milford Township Library. Free homemade cookies and lemonade will be served by Friends volunteers during the outdoor concerts
For the past three years, the Friends of the Library has received grants from the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council, in partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, that help fund the concert series.
