Line-dancing fundraiser supports local emergency services
Oak Ridge. Local residents raised funds for two volunteer emergency-service organizations during the inaugural “Fire on the Dance Floor” line-dancing fundraiser Aug. 22.
Local residents gathered Aug. 22 for the inaugural “Fire on the Dance Floor” Line Dancing Fundraiser, raising money for the Milton First Aid Squad and Jefferson Township Fire Department No. 1.
The event featured music and line-dancing instruction from the Jerzey Girlz and Guys Dance Group, giving attendees an evening of entertainment while supporting two local volunteer emergency-service organizations.
Guests also enjoyed food from local businesses including AJ’s Country Cone, Pinto’s Pizza and Thyme Lab Catering.
Adding a Western theme to the event, Nick’s Hope, a local nonprofit that provides free clothing to New Jersey families in need, sold cowboy hats and donated a portion of the proceeds to the fundraiser.
The Milton First Aid Squad and Jefferson Township Fire Department No. 1 rely on community support and fundraising to help maintain their ability to provide emergency services to local residents.
Organizers thanked the community, businesses, performers and volunteers who helped make the inaugural event possible.
The organizations’ next fundraiser will be a cash bingo event Oct. 3.
