The West Milford Elks Lodge #2236 has donated $2,000 to support Lyndsay and Chris Wright’s fundraising efforts for this year’s Walk MS, continuing a long-running partnership in the siblings’ fight against multiple sclerosis.

The Wrights, who participate as Team Demyelinate This, are marking their 17th year in the annual fundraiser, which raises money for research, programs and services through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“Year after year, this kind of support truly lifts us up,” the siblings said in a statement. “It reminds us we’re not facing this journey alone and the Elks love to be involved in making that difference for not only us, but everyone who faces the unpredictable nature of MS.”

Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that disrupts communication between the brain and body, often causing unpredictable physical challenges. Lyndsay Wright has lived with the disease for 18 years, while Chris Wright was diagnosed a decade ago.

“We face this disease side by side, and every year we’re reminded why we keep going,” they said. “Our goal is to bring people together, raise awareness, and move closer to a future where MS no longer exists.”

Organizers said Walk MS has generated more than $1 billion nationally through donations and volunteer support. Supporters can contribute by mailing checks payable to the National MS Society to Lyndsay Wright in Hewitt.
